Bronchitis may be either acute or chronic. Acute bronchitis is a viral condition much like the cold or flu and it is contagious. It spreads through casual contact. Chronic bronchitis is an ongoing condition that occurs over and over. A diagnosis of bronchitis is likely for any kind of inflammation in the bronchial tubes. Chronic bronchitis is an ongoing struggle to reduce swelling in the bronchial tubes.

Bronchitis is a term that is sometimes used for a wide range of conditions which affect the lungs and bronchial tubes. In general, bronchitis is a condition in which there is swelling, or inflammation, of the bronchial tubes. There are two types of bronchitis, chronic and acute. Chronic bronchitis is a recurring condition and is not contagious. Acute bronchitis is caused by a viral infection and is contagious. There are some symptoms which you may experience with either chronic or acute bronchitis.

Bronchitis is a respiratory condition in which there is inflammation of the airways. There are two basic types of bronchitis, acute and chronic. Acute bronchitis is usually a relatively short bout; while chronic bronchitis is a long term condition which may occur over and over for periods of time. Chronic bronchitis is not contagious.

There are basically two classifications for bronchitis, chronic and acute. In simple terms bronchitis means there is some sort of inflammation in the bronchial tubes. You may be coughing quite a bit as your body tries to rid the airways of fluid. If this mucus becomes cloudy or yellow-green in color it means you have a secondary infection which may require antibiotics. It usually remains clear during an attack of acute bronchitis.
