When a person has a problem with bunions, he or she is referred to a podiatry DR. A DPM or doctor of podiatric medicine is a specialist who addresses the disorders of the lower leg, ankle, and foot. Bunions are a common foot problem that can be managed or corrected with surgery, if needed.
