Health insurance is quickly becoming very important in today’s society. It’s on the news pretty much every day, with people in Washington trying to figure out what to do about it. And costs keep going up, making it less affordable than ever. Basic health insurance coverage is becoming a very valuable commodity these days.

U.S. Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) has introduced a bill that would curb restrictions imposed by the FDA and FTC regarding health claims for dietary supplements. Why would he do that? Aren’t these restrictions good for the consumer to make sure they don’t get “duped” by snake oil salesmen making false claims?

Angioedema: This condition is characterized by rapid swelling. It can occur in the dermis, subcutaneous tissue, or mucosa. Rapid onset of Angioedema (rapid swelling) should be treated as a medical emergency due to the possibility for airway obstruction and/or suffocation as a result of swelling. If swelling occurs a doctor should be consulted immediately.

Like it or not, some health crises require medication. The question is, just how safe are your prescription pills? Your physician prescribes them and they are Food and Drug Administration approved. But are they safe? Studies show that you may not be as safe as you would like to be! Not even aspirin is 100% safe. Whether you realize it or not, whenever you take a drug, you are weighing the potential benefits against the possibility that the medicine can hurt you.
