Niacin is one of the B vitamins. The body uses niacin to convert carbohydrates into energy. Niacin also helps keep other areas healthy such as the eyes, skin and hair. It is also beneficial for both the nervous and digestive systems.

Biotin is one of the B-vitamins. There are eight vitamins that make up B-complex. Biotin is one of those eight; and it is made naturally in the small intestine. It can also be ingested by eating meats and legumes. Biotin is given as a supplement in certain cases. A deficiency can arise during pregnancy and is often prescribed to avoid a deficiency.

Niacin is part of the B-vitamin complex. It is found naturally in several foods which are consumed regularly. It is in fish, dairy products including eggs, and nuts. When consumed in these common foods niacin is not known to have any side effects.

Ibuprofen is a popular over the counter medication. It is an anti-inflammatory medication which is commonly used for pain and swelling caused by arthritis and injuries such as breaks and sprains. Many times a higher dose is prescribed by a physician. Usually, this is on a short term basis.
