As a professional duty, the family physician is entitled to take care and look after the health of the whole family and their well-being. These doctors are medically licensed medical practitioners of general medicine and they are usually the first contact of the family if anyone is not feeling very well and are called upon during emergencies and situations which require direct medical attention.

An urologist is a doctor focuses on any conditions that could happen to a male or female urinary tract. They also study the reproductive system in a male or female. They are trained to recognize any symptoms in a patient that could be suffering from a urological disorder. The two main organs that are involved in urology is the kidneys and the bladder.

On the other hand a long shank is used when the contra-angle is not in use. The friction grip burs are small in size and are only used in the high speed hand pieces. There are various probes used in the dental office as well such as the straight probe, sickle probe and the periodontal probe. The sickle probe was once used to allow dentists to see how much tooth decay had occurred but, it has since been used more for enhancing tactile sensations in the mouth.

In 1989, a no scalpel vasectomy gained popularity. Based on a procedure developed in China by Dr. Li Shunquiang, this method of vasectomy was far preferred to the “cut-’em-open” method of the past. However, it did still involve a needle being injected into the base of the penis, which most men found terrifying.

A spinal intervertebral disc is a small, gelatinous substance contained inside the vertebrae of the spinal cord. The spinal column itself is a hard bone, but it has a soft jelly-like substance inside it to cushion each vertebrae during movement. When the herniated disc ruptures or bulges from its proper place, it may press on nearby nerves.

Ascorbic acid was discovered in 1932, but medical professionals and scientists knew the value of citrus fruits long before 1932. According to the Harvard School of Public Health close to 2 million sailors died from scurvy between 1500 and 1800. It was not until 1932 that doctors discovered that the actual cause of scurvy was from a vitamin C deficiency.
