With no signs of the recession fading away and newspapers full of reports of impending economic doom, people are turning towards the internet for possible income generating ventures. Actually, despite the economic turmoil, the internet is a still a wonderful way to make money and now more so than every before.

Imagine meeting a very good looking person, when you see him/her across the room you can’t take your eyes off this person and then you strike a conversation with him/ her only to find that he/she has very little to ay to you besides toot his/her trumpet about how amazing he/she is. And finally when you do manage to butt in with a question, you get a rather curt ‘ yes or no’ answer before this person goes right back to talking about himself or herself till you are just about ready to faint out of sheer boredom, do you think you will be able to forge a relationship with such a person? The answer will probably be a resounding no; websites are no different a great looking website will not move your visitors if it does not offer value.

There is some amount of ambiguity on what generates income in an online venture; if you have a site that simply offers information about your brick and mortar business with no provisions for customers to buy your products or services online ; just driving traffic to your site will be adequate but if you are selling something or even if you have a website dedicated to internet marketing, increasing the traffic to your site will just be the first step to generating a profit because the next and most important step will be to convert the visitors; in other words, make them buy from you or a company that you are marketing. Companies spend a significant amount of money, manpower and time to plan exactly what they are going to do and how they are going to do it, so there is no reason why you should let planning take a back seat when you are trying to get your website up and running.
