What a Family Doctor is

Advanced medical professionals who have finished medical school and a residency in family medicine are what family doctors are. Also called primary care physicians, they treat a wide range of health issues and concerns. During their last two years in college it is when the students apply for medical school; application generally takes up to one year. Anatomy and physiology, pharmacy, and medical diagnosing are just among the courses that medical students take during their first two years. Their last two years are spent having rotations in various hospitals and doctor offices.

A few begin their medical practice on their own, while others join into a group practice, and some work in hospital clinics – these just prove that family doctors practice their profession in dissimilar settings. In the United States and across the globe, countless of family doctors work with charitable organizations.
